Seeing the need for more home- and school-based consultation services, May Institute has opened a new consultation division in California.

There are many things that make The Bay School a unique program for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, but one area that is particularly important to us is the quality of training we provide to our staff.

In September 2016, The Bay School was the lucky recipient of a Home Depot "Team Build" where Home Depot sent a talented team of employees to help transform our school play yard in just one day!

Thank you to everyone near and far who helped make magic happen at The Bay School! With the overwhelming generosity of our community, we exceeded our Playground Project fundraising goal and raised over $35,000 through our Crowdrise campaign.

In March 2017, The Bay School welcomed Spring View Middle School and Rocklin High School Bands to perform live jazz music for our students and staff on our new playground! One of our students joined in by playing the bongos for a couple songs, while other students danced and cheered for all the musicians. Many of the band members spent time with our students in between sets, playing soccer and dancing—it was truly a special event for everyone!

National Autism Awareness Month is an opportunity to educate the community about autism and promote autism acceptance.

In May 2017, The Bay School developed a new position, Clinical Coordinator, designed to provide additional educational and behavioral support to our students. We are proud to announce that Stephanie (Steph) Iwanciow will be stepping into this role. Steph has been part of our team for over 12 years, serving the role of Instructor, Senior Instructor, and most recently Special Education Teacher. Steph holds her Masters Degree in Education and is a Board Certified Behavior Analysist (BCBA). 

The Bay School, a May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, is holding an exciting Summer Raffle to raise funds for student curriculum and technology!

The Bay School was chosen to receive a grant from The Nicholson Family Foundation to purchase new school curriculum and assessment and intervention tools. We were thrilled to be able to purchase a brand new SRA math curriculum from McGraw Hill called Number Worlds as well as a sight word based-reading program called Edmark. Additionally The Bay School was also able to purchase multiple assessment tools including the Woodcock-Johnson IV and the CELF-5.

The Bay School is now participating in the Box Tops for Education™ program. Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help The Bay School raise money. Box Tops are each worth 10¢ and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. To help, just look for pink Box Tops on products, clip them, and send them to school.
