Bertilde Kamana, Ph.D., BCBA
Director of Education and Clinical Services, The Bay School, a May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities
As Director of Education and Clinical Services, Dr. Kamana oversees all student programming and clinical services at The Bay School (TBS) in addition to supervising the school’s behavior analysts, coordinator of vocational services, and team of related service providers.
Dr. Kamana came to TBS in September 2019 as a postdoctoral fellow after completing her graduate work at The University of Kansas. Prior to joining TBS, Dr. Kamana consulted and completed her dissertation at a large organization that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
During her fellowship, Dr. Kamana collaborated with TBS in developing a research program and an on-site BCBA training and supervision program. In addition, she supported the school by conducting assessments, running treatment sessions, and assisting in the development of behavioral interventions for various students throughout the school.
She accepted a full-time position as a Senior Behavior Analyst for TBS in 2020, and was promoted to her current position in 2021.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Dr. Kamana is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), Black Applied Behavior Analysts (BABA), and Women in Behavior Analysis (WIBA).
